Get ready to lace up your running shoes and experience the beauty of nature at the Helderberg Nature Reserve Trail Fun Run on Saturday, 21 March 2026! Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or looking for a fun family outing, this event has something for everyone.
Expect scenic trail routes through one of the region’s most treasured natural spaces.
Distance options for all fitness levels:
🏃♂️ 7km – R200
🏃♀️ 5km – R150
🚶♂️ 3km – R100
• 🐞 Fun Bug Hunt activity for kids (only R10!)
• A vibrant, community-driven atmosphere focused on health, nature, and connection
⏰ Event Times:
• Activities run from 07:00 – 10:00
• Entry opens from 06:00 via the Hillcrest Road gate
👨👩👧👦 Who should join?
We’re calling on residents from Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Stellenbosch, and across the greater Cape Town area to bring along their friends, family, and energy! With around 250 runners expected (plus spectators and young explorers), it’s set to be a lively morning outdoors.

• Increased activity and visitor numbers during the event
• Possible early morning traffic near the reserve
• Limited parking availability
• Some trails may be busier or temporarily restricted
👉 Visitors are welcome, but please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from marshals and staff to ensure everyone’s safety.
